Satchel Rosetta Exchange
Common Good Learning Tools (CGLT), the company that built CASE Network 2, has launched Satchel Rosetta Exchange this month as a hub to access PK-12+ standards and competencies following the guidelines outlined by 1EdTech’s Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange (CASE®) even easier.
Our Journey with CASE® to Satchel Rosetta Exchange
Our mission to accelerate CASE adoption and support the interoperability movement was inspired in large part by our membership to the 1EdTech™ community. Since 2019 our founder has worked side-by-side with districts and states to build the tools they needed for interoperability, equity, and access. Making standards machine readable and easy to import into other online systems is central to much of our work.
From 2023 to 2025, CGLT and 1EdTech also partnered to expand CASE (along with many other organizations in this space) and we succeeded! While 1EdTech championed the movement through education and advocacy, CGLT provided the technical infrastructure and CASE services for issuing agencies transitioning from managing standards using PDF documents or spreadsheets to the machine readable format of CASE.
In 2025, CGLT was able to give CASE a boost thanks to registered support of CASE Network and additional sponsorships from Google and Frog Street. As a result CASE achieved:
U.S. Expansion: CGLT filled in and continues to maintain 5 new PK-12+ subject areas for all 50 states, bringing the total to 9 subject areas in CASE.
Global Growth: CGLT added the "Core Four" curriculum outcomes for 30 additional countries and provinces (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies).
Innovative Applications: Issuing agencies and CGLT partners used the CASE 1.1 specification to expand how CASE is used for organizing hierarchical data to include college pathways, higher ed. & workforce skills, K-12 course catalogs, and testing item metadata.
Extending Impact in 2026
In 2026, CGLT is excited to focus on our public benefit mission to support the CASE ecosystem with our Satchel products and CASE services. The launch of Satchel Rosetta Exchange enables CGLT to offer a free CASE publishing pathway using free patch version of our Satchel Commons product, enhanced Best Practices reporting for all our partners, and an upgraded API with a normalized data option for registered organizations. We look forward to learning more about 1EdTech’s global vision for CASE® and collaborating with the edtech community as CASE evolves.
